Mixtape Madness

I love making mixtapes. (Well now of course they’re called playlists. But you know what I mean.) And mixtapes are meant to be shared. So I’d like to share mine with you.

Here’s how it works. Every so often I’ll post the song playlist of my latest mixtape on this blog, along with its particular rules.

Oh yes, there are rules. And the rules of mixtapes are fixed and finite.

Then you’ll look them over and post comments about what a mixtape genius I am. Or tell me what song you think I should have included.

Now before you get too excited, let me just warn you: I graduated from high school in 1986. I’m hopelessly unhip about today’s music scene. But for those of you who were just coming home from the hospital in a rear-facing car seat while I was moving into my first college dorm room: just consider this part of your ongoing education. :)

  2. Of course I'd love to read your blog! Thanks for the invite friend! Merry Christmas to your family. Are you in Austin for Christmas this year? We're in Lubbock and I think we will all be in Ft. Worth for Winter Conference. I'm recovering from surgery and trying to figure out what I can eat...

How fun! I'm excited to hear more about all you are thinking... and the great playlists that you are so intentional about! Thanks Stephanie! Can't wait to keep up with whatever you have up your sleeve!

  7. I have a mix tape challenge for you to settle an argument that I have with a good friend of mine. He says his pastor (of this real hip "relevant" church...whatever that is) claimed that All that you can't leave behind was the greatest Praise and Worship album ever. I still hold to the old school belief that the Book of Psalms is the greatest Praise and Worship album ever (something about being "God-breathed" instead of "Bono-breathed"). Anyway, can you put together, in your opinion, the best U2 Praise and Worship mix tape (and yes, you can include "40"!) and let's compare it to the book of Psalms and see which one draws us to the throne room closest and fastest! (love to have some theologians make fun of that contest).

Thanks again for the last tape. Chilled me out on my way to and back from www.ministrynetconference.com
