A couple of weeks ago, my 4-year-old daughter requested to have her hair cut just like her friend Bailey from pre-school. I hesitated because E has this luxurious, thick, dark, wavy hair, and I had always kept it pretty long.
But she insisted. So I gave it a go. The result was this cute bob:

I thought she looked adorable. But when she saw herself in the mirror she wailed, “It doesn’t look like Bailey’s hair! It looks like YOURS! Waaaaaah!”
The story gets better.
Today E brought one of her dolls in and said, “Look Mom…this doll has hair just like yours!”
Here’s a picture of the doll:

Maybe it’s time for me to get a new look?
Oooooh Stpeh! I never remember your hair looking like that :-) You should have posted a pic of you with Em so we could see how cute the two of you are together. Leyna's been asking to get her hair cut short like her friends recently too. I don't think I can give in though. You're a brave mom!
ReplyDeleteLet me just say, Steph, that your hair looks nothing like Emily's or the doll's hair. You have a very cute hair style so don't let this get you down. You are absolutely beautiful inside and out, which is just one of the many reasons I so greatly respect you! Hope you and your family are all doing well. We love you guys!
ReplyDeleteKatrina, I miss E's long hair...but it sure is easier to comb through when it's short! We'll probably let it grow out again now. Carita, you are so sweet...thank you for your kind words! I'm not really upset...I'm just playing for effect. I thought both of these incidents were so funny! Hope you're having a wonderful month....would love to catch up when you get home!
