The Naaman Initiative

What would motivate two young couples to move thousands of miles away from their families, only to settle on a remote island in Southeast Asia amidst a culture completely different from their own?

Why would they struggle to understand and speak the local language, endure tropical weather without the luxury of air conditioning, and learn to eat and prepare strange foods?

What would motivate them to stay there for years, raising their babies, putting down roots, making new friends, and investing in the local community?

The love of Jesus.

These two couples—friends of mine—reveled in the love Jesus poured out on them. They were so overwhelmed by His grace and majesty, they decided they couldn’t keep it to themselves. They wanted to tell everyone in the world about their Jesus.

Their hearts were especially quickened when they learned about areas of the world where men and women could live their whole lives without every hearing about Jesus of Nazareth. Places where even if they wanted to learn about Him, they might not have anywhere to go.

And so my friends trained through an established missions agency, raised tons of money, said their tearful goodbyes, and created The Naaman Initiative.

Wouldn’t you love to follow their stories as their lives unfold? Learn about how God is using them to share the gospel of Jesus with their Muslim neighbors? See how they express the tangible love of God to the surrounding rural communities by providing low-cost water filters for poor families? Hear how God is using them to train Muslims who now follow Jesus to share their faith with others?

You can! Simply click here to follow them on Facebook, or click here to subscribe to their blog. Their Facebook page provides real-time, specific prayer requests, so you can join in their adventure by lifting them up to the Father.

You’ll be glad you did!
