Alyson, they probably lied to you OR their management mandated the response with a job loss ultimatum. I've been a server for over 25 years. We're NEVER glad when the "cheap" christians come to town with their tracts made to look like money just to fool you. How would you feel if Jesus just "fooled" you?

I love The Hiding Place, as did my kids. I had the privilege of visiting the ten Boom home and seeing The Hiding Place. But the greatest privilege was interviewing Corrie in 1976. Such humility and wisdom--and passion.

Thanks for posting about this, Stephanie... this is also an issue in the Asian American community, as there aren't many films with lead role of that ethnicity. Plus, some films where the characters are supposed to be AA are replaced with non-AAs to make the films more marketable. I'm glad you're bringing awareness to efforts that are trying to do more, though it's a hard process I'm sure.

I just finished Unbroken (via unabridged audio during our car ride to Colorado!) and it is a must read. I also love the Katherine Graham bio, but it is quite long. If I have more suggestions, I will let you know! :)
